Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic test, which began at the end of 2019, shook the globe. Authorities have tried a variety of measures to manage the pandemic situation, which has a substantial impact on society as a whole, under control. According to Badiuzzaman Said Nursi, however, every attempt must begin with the individual as a member of society. Allah SWT in the Quran highlights even individual efforts in our society as efforts that would lead to transformation (Surah Ar Ra’du: 13). Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine Said Nursi’s perspective on each test by looking at the idea of servitude in human beings, which is the key to gaining Allah SWT’s blessings, and its application in dealing with this pandemic test. Through the design of analytical document analysis, this study takes a qualitative approach. The primary sample is The First Gleam, the thirty-first letter in the book Risale-i Nur by Badiuzzaman Said Nursi. The research revealed that the notion of servant outlined in this letter is a servant of God who felt weakness and poverty and then surrendered over entire dependence to Allah Almighty, through which he read the Quran to know what to do and accept his fate. This research is meant to provide each person experiencing the pandemic a realistic image of the situation as seen through the eyes of the Quran.
