Abstract

This study explores the features of social life as envisioned by Said Nursi, highlighting the pressing challenges of disorder and disunity that threaten contemporary societies. It advances a central objective: the establishment of a safe and stable social order through the implementation of five fundamental principles—mutual respect, compassion and mercy, abstention from the unlawful, preservation of security, and the rejection of chaos and anarchy through adherence to lawful obedience. Employing an inductive and analytical methodology, the study examines these principles in light of Risale-i Nur, which, over the course of two decades, succeeded in producing hundreds of thousands of individuals who served both society and the state without causing harm, thereby affirming the effectiveness of these principles. The study concludes with two key findings: first, that these five principles constitute the cornerstone of national security and societal stability; and second, that belief in the Hereafter serves as the ultimate foundation of both social and individual life, ensuring human happiness and perfection. The study recommends the revival and practical application of these principles in modern contexts—educationally and socially—so as to foster civil peace, strengthen trust among members of society, and cultivate virtuous citizens who contribute to the unity and advancement of the Muslim ummah.
