Abstract

Several decades have passed since Malaysia gained independence for 66 years, living in harmony with a diverse society of various ethnicities, religions, and nations. Although Islam can be openly practiced in Malaysia, there is still a lack of understanding regarding religious legal issues, leading to conflicts among the Muslim community. Therefore, the aim of this article is to addresses the disputes within Malaysia's Muslim community, focusing on current issues related to Fiqh, Aqidah, and Politics, and bringing out the roots of Muslim disputes in Malaysia caused by fanaticism, particularly adherence to specific Madhhab, and the reform movement's that challenge the position of the Shafi'i School. Next, we explore the concepts of sincerity (Ikhlas) and brotherhood (Ukhuwwah) as expounded by Imam Said Nursi in his interpretation. The analytical methodology used in this article involves gathering information through library research, referencing sources from books and articles. A solution is proposed through the concept of Ikhlas & Ukhuwwah from the interpretation of the Risalah An-Nur treatise by Imam Said Nursi, emphasizing unity, sincerity, tolerance, compassion, faith, and devotion to Allah. According to the findings of this analysis, the necessity of avoiding hatred, growing compassion and sincerity, strengthening faith and Ukhuwwah and focusing on Allah's favor over duniawi benefits is emphasised. Indeed, applying the concept of Ikhlas and Ukhuwwah can help to resolve conflicts while also creating togetherness, respect, and understanding among Malaysians.
